Why are we adopting? There are many reasons, but mainly we feel called to do so. We decided while dating that this is something we both had hearts for, and both wanted to do. After a long battle with infertility, we decided to go ahead and answer the call to adopt. We're thankful to know that adoption was planned, something we always knew we wanted to do. Now seems like the perfect time to do it!

When are we adopting? All of our paperwork is in China, and we are currently waiting on a referral from our agency. This could take anywhere from 3-9 months, or longer.

Why China? We have prayed and prayed for God to lead us where our child is, and we have always had a heart for China. We truly feel our future child is there! There are many other factors that play into our choice. We know that there are plenty of children here in America that need a home, and we might be called to one of them in the future! For now, God has led us here and we will not question that calling.

Why a special needs child? The waiting list for a “healthy” baby in China is 7 years. The special needs list is a much shorter wait.  A special need in China can mean a birthmark, a heart murmur, cleft lip... or a variety of other very correctable issues! We prayed about it, and have been able to tell our adoption agency what special needs we were open to. We weren’t guaranteed a healthy baby when trying to get pregnant, so why be picky now?

How can you help? Pray and Share! We will be having multiple fundraising opportunities so please pray over, and share these fundraisers with everyone that you know! International adoption for China costs add up to around $30,000 (not to mention the normal cost of things to buy for a child). We are saving every last penny we can, but we are really need the help of our community as well! We know that this is a big amount, but we also know that our God is bigger!

Donations? Checks can be made payable to "Peddicord Adoption Fund".
