THE PUZZLE FUNDRAISER

Every person who donates to our adoption becomes a part of our story; a piece of our puzzle.

Here's how it works:
  • We have selected a 500 piece puzzle; every piece symbolizing someone who will help bring our baby home.
  • Each piece is a minimum donation of $20
  • You may choose to be one piece of the puzzle or several pieces of the puzzle.
  • YOUR name will be written on the back of each piece you represent!

After the puzzle is completed, we will frame the puzzle between two pieces of glass and hang it in our child's room. This will be a wonderful keepsake to see all the people who helped bring Baby Peddicord home!

YOU will be a part of completing our missing piece to the puzzle!

Here is our puzzle!  I mean, did you expect anything else?! :)

I can see us sitting down one day with our child and reading off all the names that helped bring him or her home! "These people loved you before they knew you!"

So if we sell ALL 500 pieces, that will raise around $10,000! This will cover a huge chunk of our adoption!

To get a puzzle piece, just click on the Paypal link to the right side of this blog. Or email us at thepeddicordfamily@gmail.com to get the address to mail a donation.  If you wish to have more than one puzzle piece (you rock!), then enter in the designated amount in the field provided.

I will be updating the blog often so you can see the puzzle's progress!

FAQ

First of all,we want to thank everyone for all the love and support over the last fews weeks. We feel so blessed with all the positive comments you sent our way. We are very glad that everyone knows, and that everyone can follow along on this journey with us. And WOW thank you to those that have already donated! We appreciate you more than you could ever know!

Here's the answers to come questions that we frequently hear:

Why are we adopting? There are many reasons, but mainly we feel called to do so. We decided while dating that this is something we both had hearts for, and both wanted to do. What led us to start the process was that we have been battling infertility since 2011. Three surgeries, countless amounts of fertility drugs, shots, pills, and one miscarriage later, we felt that it was best to move forward and answer the call to adoption.

When are we adopting? We have started all the paper work, and our home study begins in January! When Kristin turns 30 in July (you must be at least 30 to adopt from China), we can send everything off for final approval. Lord willing, we will be matched with a child in late 2014 and travel to pick up our baby in 2015! It could take longer than that, or even less time than that, but we will keep you updated!

Why China? We have prayed and prayed for God to lead us where our child is, and we have always had a heart for China. We truly feel our future child is there! With the “one-child policy” there were over 336 million abortions in the last 40 years, and there are many other factors that play into our choice. We really have a heart for reaching out to locations where children might not ever hear about Jesus. We know that there are plenty of children here in America that need a home, and we might be called to one of them in the future! For now, God has led us here and we will not question Him.

Why a special needs child? The waiting list for a “healthy” baby in China is 7 years. The special needs list is a much shorter wait.  A special need in China can mean a birthmark, a heart murmur, cleft lip... or a variety of other very correctable issues! We prayed about it, and have been able to tell our adoption agency what special needs we were open to. We weren’t guaranteed a healthy baby when trying to get pregnant, so why be picky now?

Why are we telling you now? We need your prayers, so we figured the sooner you could find out and start praying, the better!

How can you help? Pray and Share! We will be having multiple fundraising opportunities so please pray over, and share these fundraisers with everyone that you know! International adoptions costs add up to around $28,000 (not to mention the normal cost of things to buy for a child). We are saving every last penny we can, but we really need the help of our community as well! We know that this is a big amount, but we also know that our God is bigger!

Donations? From here on out, we ask that birthday, Christmas, any type of “gift” that you normally give us, be made in the form of a donation to our China baby. Our home study starts in January, and that’s a $2500 fee that we are trying to raise right now.

Lastly, I wanted to share this video that our adoption agency just sent over. It's sad seeing children that have no idea the true meaning of adoption...the little girl at the end melted my heart!

Thank you again for following our journey!

WE'RE ADOPTING Y'ALL

We are overjoyed, excited, and teary-eyed as we finally announce: We are ADOPTING from China!!!

We would love for you to join us on this journey as we respond to God's calling in our lives! We know you probably have many questions (Who? When? Why?), and those will be answered in a later blog post. For now, we just ask that you pray! Pray for us, and our sweet future baby boy or girl. Pray for his or her family. Pray that those around us will be open to this amazing gift. We challenge you to tell your kids about the true meaning of adoption. Our prayer right now is that God will open YOUR heart (yes you), and that you will be touched by this amazing blessing. We cant wait to have a child: The only difference is he or she is growing in our HEARTS and not mom's belly!

We had adoption announcement photos made by the very talented Jayson Mullen Design & Photography! Kristin had really been wanting to get some announcement photos done, and Jayson messaged her one day out of the blue asking for a family session. She asked him if they could do a "trade" and it all worked out perfectly! God definitely put him in our life at the perfect time! Here are a few of our favs, thank you Jayson!

During our session, Jayson showed us this picture on the back of his camera and I (Kristin) just started crying. For someone who has battled infertility, these are the "maternity" photos that I never got to have. They mean the world to us... Haha! WORLD, get it? See, I can be funny...

This is one of the many verses we cling to...

Thanks so much for reading about our journey, please check back often for updates...

We can't wait to bring baby Peddicord home!
