About Us

We're two gingers who love God, each other, our 2 dogs and let's be honest... cheese dip.

We both grew up in the little village (Casey calls it that... ) of Roane County, TN.

Here's the short version of our story...
High School - we dated for 3 months.
College - Casey ran away to Nashville and Kristin missed him.
After college - Kristin and Casey starting talking again on MySpace (yes, you read that right).
After "After college" - Kristin and Casey got back together, got real jobs, bought a fixer upper that's still being fixed up, and took in two little beagles who are referred to as "the girls".

We both love football, photography, movies, eating out, Jesus, cornhole, country music ( Kristin's favorite is REBA... maybe it's the hair?), anything Apple, cowboy boots and holidays.

Over the past 2 years we've been on a rough journey that we really haven't shared with anyone other than very close family members. While on our journey to have our own children biologically, we've been blessed with infertility issues. Yes, you heard that right. BLESSED. Why would we even say that? How would dare say such a thing? Well... it's simple. God's plan is bigger than ours. WAY bigger .

We don't want you think that we're adopting JUST because of infertility. That's totally NOT the case. Infertility is simply a unique and different way to God works to answer our prayer to adopt.

We both agreed when we got married that we were going to adopt. And we both agreed that it would be an amazing miracle to save a little boy or girl from another country, where they may not have the chance to hear the story of Jesus. It's truly amazing how God works, because we also agreed when we got married that we would pursue adoption probably AFTER we had our own child/children. When the infertility battle began, God's plan started to unfold before our eyes. Even though it was (and is) hard on the both of us, we now understand that God was there all the time saying "don't worry... my plan for you is great...".

Now, we're sailing off (not literally... Kristin get's a little seasick) on this amazing journey to bring home a little boy or girl from China. We've been blown away by the prayers, cards, texts and phone calls of support and love. We hope that this blog serves a purpose of not only keeping you informed of what's happening in our adoption bubble, but also the process of adoption overall.

Thanks everyone for your support and we look forward to sharing our story with ya'll!

  3. I also found this on Pinterest. My husband and I have a photo shoot scheduled for Saturday. We are on a similar time frame. We should be LID by the end of December. Maybe some of us can find a way to connect?? I definitely plan to keep checking on your journey. I read a little bit and all of the emotions are so familiar.

    2. We are not quite LID. Unfortunately it has taken longer than anticipated to get our final items authorized through the China Consulate. They should come back early next week, then we can send everything off to our agency - so close!!! How have you felt since being LID and officially waiting? I imagine that it will be a relief, but then it will be time to move on to everything else that needs done to prepare....
